Bavaria
Bavaria characterizes good beer, high mountains, lots of lakes for swimming, good education, dedication to football, a good deal of business, and not to forget their jovial traditions.
Munich
All these qualities merge together in Munich, the capital of Bavaria. Munich has something on offer for everyone: plenty of culture, Bavarian hospitality, endless shopping opportunities, a great emphasis on leisure, an exciting night life, a variety of restaurants, calming natural surroundings, interesting architecture and much more.
Munich combines a diversity of distinctions. The metropolis of 1.3 million people is one of the largest publishing and media centers in Europe. The Octoberfest, which takes place every year in autumn, is the largest folk festival in the world. As a result of the stabile job market and the emphasis on leisure Munich has become one of the most popular cities in Germany. The theatre “die Kammerspiele” is one of the best stages in the German speaking world. Munich features one of the most modern football stadiums in all of Europe, which was in actual fact built for the Football World Cup 2006. Despite all these distinctions, Munich has still managed to preserve its sense of coziness. It is particularly the countless beer gardens in the green city, where you can enjoy a beer and something to eat, which contribute to this. It is not called “ Munich the city with a heart” for nothing.
